I have a 68 bug I have stripped the chassis down and am getting ready to start putting it back together. I want to upgrade to discs all around and was looking into going with a 5 x 112 bolt pattern. I am wondering if any of you have any knowledge on the subject as to any other mods that will need to be done to accomplish this. I am concerned about rim sizes and offsets for the clearances of brake calipers, shocks, etc. This is the first time I've had to deal with this kind of a change. I'm looking for info. If any body has done the swap I'd deffinatly like to hear how you did it and maybe some of the problems you might have encountered doing so.

5 x 112 is not a normal pattern offered for a beetle disc kit. Most are 4 x 130 (VW), 5 x 130 (Porsche), 5 x 4.5 (Chevy) or blank. CB Performance offers a very nice bolt on kits with or without drop spindles for a balljoint frontend.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I've swapped numerous stock parts, but this is a new area for me. I'm sure I'll have more dumb questions. I wanna get it right the first time. Thanks again.

Troy and I converted the Chumpcar to 4 bolt discs on all 4 with cheapo kits. The only problems were that you have to shim the calipers to get them centered, which I hate, and I used steel white spoke wheels that did not clear the front calipers, I had to put a spacer on those. They work fine.
