After months of wondering if I threw my money away, my buddy picked up my seat from Vancouver BC this weekend!!!!

Although my bus originally had a 3/4 middle, it will atleast be nice to have a correct year seat!

Cant wait to clean it up!

Duke, I've got three of these sitting in my garage...just kidding! You've got to post pics up as you re-do it...what color are you going with on interior?

The end result will probably be mesh gray (OG color)

However, I do have a beige seat cover that I picked up that I will use until I gather the cash for the interior.

Decided I wanted to do the OG seat which was 2/3.

What year is the seat I have now correct for?

What is it worth?

Looks like '62-'66 style seat, '62-'63 have differences in handles, minor details. Worth....$400-$600 or so.

Well, I thought I might have a trade lined up for a 2/3 seat but it fell through. I guess I will have to make do with the full seat.

2 things

Better to powder coat ($45 quote) or paint?

What should I do about the mounting? My bus has the 2/3 mounting points. I found that WWest sells the plates.

$45 to powdercoat is a good deal in my opinion. I've been powder coating at home, all my engine tin that will fit into my oven....and that is a time consuming job! Plus, that seat is going to take alot of powder. If you decide to paint it, I would use some kind of rust encapsulator...it'll be hard to get all the rust completely off the springs. That stuff will stop it in it's tracks.
Sucks about the 2/3 trade falling through, I saw the thread on Samba...sounded like the guy was really wanting to do it.

Yeah. I kinda thought that it wouldn't work after I seen the pics of his seat. Solid frame with brand new padding/upholstery from WW. He had a couple bucks invested and didn't want to have to invest a bunch into getting this full seat put together.

I'll just cruise the full middle for now.

For sure. Just trying to come up with a safe way of making an adapter so I dont have to alter the stock floor, which is in pretty good shape.
