Troy, you mentioned you might need to do this to your car, it's really not as hard as I thought it would be.

Spot welds used to be a pain, then I found some nifty tools. Spot weld drills are worth evey penny. The arbor is about $25, and the bits are double sided...3 for $18. they make perfect cut around the spot weld. For welding....I bit the big bullet and got a real welder (too bad I paid snap-on prices) with wonderful sheet metal options like reverse polarity, and auto-spot. now floor pans take literally a third of the time.

The cutting wasn't too bad, but having an "auto-spot" would be cool.

There is definately an auto darkening helmet in my immediate future though, as doing multiple spots down the join line is a hassle wtih conventional helmets. A stitch welder would be sweet.

The scarest challenge in repair to the heat channel. Do I really have to separate body from pan? Or how do I keep all the hole to meet going back? I saw a picture of the braces that a body has to have so it doesn't teak but it was not very clear..........I know ....relax... Rolling Eyes .....Jeronimo
