Bad Bug:

If we can get it all put back together then I think we will go. We finally put in the newly rebuilt transmission.

We also need to fix the gas gauge. But that is all buried behind the dash which is not a simple operation Sad

Are you going to take the drag car out?

Troy:

Where is the vintage show? Is there any information about that? Like a web page or something?

I was going to, but don't think I will have it ready in time. I'm freshening some things up on the car and it might take two or three more weeks before I have it done. Keep your fingers and eyes crossed and maybe I can pull it off! Very Happy

Either case. I can make a post when I am ready to take it out in Spokane.
Cool

Have you kept with the big FI turbo? Or gone off in a different direction?

Was the transmission change how you noticed the problem with the flywheel. Did the trans have a failure from sand blasting, or did you just change gear ratios? Get the interior done. Been awhile since we've seen you

As far as I am aware, the old transmission is working as good as you could expect for something that ancient . It still worked and shifted and everything it was just a little notchy going into second. I spoke to Jeff and so he and the fellow in Walla Walla got together and got the spare rebuilt. As long as we were rebuilding we pushed the final drive ratio to slow the RPMs a little bit.

We had the engine out to change the air conditioning condenser and to swap the transmission. That's when we noticed the odd clutch wear.

The interior is done except for putting in the air conditioning evaporator, but in theory we have all the brackets and fittings for that. We also need to do some fiddly wiring bits inside but it's 90% there inside.

Will try to make it down on Wednesday to the meeting not sure if the car will be there but we could be Smile

Yep, still turbo. Looks like I might be able to get it running this weekend and then next week on the dyno. Cool

Our plan is to hit the road for Seattle early Friday morning. I'll see how it goes and maybe we can swing by on our way out of town. No promises Smile
