Count on our "new" 1971 Bay (mostly restored) on making the trip as a newbie. Our first RCVWClub event.
Umm, how do I join the RCVW Club. Rhetorical really as I can search and find out on my own. Look forward to such.
By nature I am anti-social but the VW is changing that. Magic... |

Would like to get a better count on how many cars will be attending the run for planning purposes. PM me with your best estimate please.
This is what we have so far.
Meeting at the old Safeway parking lot on 3rd & Maple at 10am to convoy to Lind, WA. I will pass out red flagging tape to each car to place under wiper blade once at Lind to denote our club.
There will be restrooms at our counting location. I am going to the city of Lind to do a recce and will have more info once I see the counting location.
BBQ in Lind city park is $7 a plate don't know about kid plate prices. Don't know what will be on the plate as of yet. I saw pictures of last years BBQ and my contact says it's great and a lot of food for the price. If you think you are going to eat at the city park BBQ can you let me know that also?
Combine demo derby starts at 3 pm and there will be food there also.
If you have any questions just ask and I will answer what I know but there are somethings I just don't know because there is a lot of moving parts for the city. As my contact told me, Lind is a city of 5000 and on this day it jumps 3x plus and we are just another group in the mix.
So far things are looking good and should be a fun run and combine demo derby! |

It surprises me that Lind has a population of 5K. It looked more like 1500 last time I was there.
Anyway, I will be there, and I will likely enjoy whatever pile-o-food they have to offer. As for an estimated count, I guess we will all have to chime in and do a roll call. |

Some info if anyone wants to educate themselves on all things Lind, WA.
The only camping I see listed is RV spots for $25 each. I wonder if your contact could shed some light on the possibility of buses and tents and what that may cost. I see tent camping mentioned, but not the price for tents.
The festivities would likely be over soon enough to make it back to Spokane at a reasonable hour, but camping may be a nice option for those who might enjoy an adult beverage or two. |

I would love to go in my 73 Thing but don't have any sort of set work schedule. If they don't make me work I'll be there to check it out. |

After leaving Spokane at 10am, are we stopping anywhere before Lind? Say the rest area, Ritzville? |

I'm sure if we are nice to Troy he would stop somewhere.
Don't let the weather report in Spokane for the weekend prevent you from attending the run, check out the weather in Lind for Saturday. 74 degrees and partly cloudy. bring sunscreen! |

Ritzville would be about half way and people could get snacks or gas (if they forgot before leaving). The rest stop at Sprague Lake would have room to keep everyone together but not near half way? _________________ TROY
