Not sure if everyone watches the engine/trans portion of the Samba other than Troy.

If you get a Kennedy pressure plate, make sure it's not warped before you install it. Mine, i'd be willing to bet, was concave when new. I roasted a clutch and the flywheel, you can see where it got smoking hot on the outer radius, the inner while you can see it was slipping, wasn't discolored like the outter.

Ron Lummus confirmed, he had to take almost .007 off the pressure plate, which is a lot considering.
