When I visited the other day you mentioned I lost the one chrome pipe due
to it not being crimped.

Are there any special tools needed? I know my coax crimper ain't a gonna get it.

Or should I just wade through my new Bentley book?

not a crimp, a peen.

using a good sized center punch....3/8 inch in dia. and filed to a dull point.

Jack the rear up (use the wishbone forward of the front transmission mount, not the motor).

using some imaginiation, figure out how far the talipipe goes into the muffler.
about one inch past the clamp(on the muffler) strike the lower part of the muffler with the punch, and make sure you hit hard enought to make the dimple go into the tailpipe.

Several hits are not advised, try to do this in one good hit.

If properly peened, the clamp does nothing more than hold exhuast gas in..

Cool, sounds very do-able.

I was thinking of how it would help the tailpipe stay seated with something
even deeper crimped in.

Muffler with tail-pipe? Cool tip!

Will have to pop a couple shots on the other one as well.

Thanks very much!

Fun stuff this weekend, for sure...

Cool
