I really wish people would stop taking the stock injection out of the convertibles. VW put it in for a reason.
what are the most common driving styles for a convert?
down the highway, topless, at 50+mph.

when the top is down, it blocks the air intake for the engine compartment (At least above 30mph it does), and forces the fan to suck whatever air it can get.

just a little food for thought.

Depending on how bad the hack is you can reweld the aprons and make it a full bodied car again.
