I'm a newcomer to your club. I own a '69 beetle and a '73 super beetle both in need of restoration. The '73 will run, but it's got it's own issues

Anyway, on the '69, my ignition switch's shot and i need to take it out so i can take it into the local locksmith and have it repaired. I don't yet own a repair manual or anything, would anyone fill me in on exactly what i need to do to remove the ignition switch? And is there a locksmith you'd recommend over others?

your ignition switch has two parts ,the electrical part and the key part. If the key has problems turning ,you can replace that half for about 9 bucks from cip1.com .or if its an electrical problem thats about 30 bucks and most of thier small stuff ships free for orders over 50 dollars.

you can also purchase it all locally for about the same price from me, and a "litttle" more from lighthouse.
