Hi all, My name is Scott and I'm new to this forum. I have a 71 super which I have owned since I was 16 (first car) I'm 45 now. This bug has been a love hate relationship for the last 20 years but now it's back to full love.

I'm looking for a exhaust system for my bug. It has a slightly beefed up 1600 and I would like to find something that will sound good and help with power if possible. I have been out of the bug world for a few years but look forward to getting back.

Thanks for any help.

Scott

There's lots of options for real headers, the only problem is they hang down and you can hit the muffler.http://www2.cip1.com/searchresults.asp?cat=1517

I don't know if you can still get an actual "Monza" brand, but this style is a good compromise. http://www.socalautoparts.com/product_info.php/empi-exhaust-system-tip-style-black-chrome-tips-p-14426

Thanks for the reply. What I currently have is a header with a single pipe glass pack which has been on this bug for over 20 years but what I was really looking for is if anyone has any personal opinions on one or the other. Does a dual exhaust perform any better and how about the sound vs. my current single pipe.....

Here is what I have right now or something very similar:

Here is a pic of my bug:

Thanks for the help.
