So, to you gentlemen who know more about this than me, how can I keep my left bank from getting too hot? A few weeks ago I was driving toward Airway Heights up sunset highway and it got so hot that the left side plug wires melted, and blew apart. I know the soft plugs in the heater channels trick, anything else that isn't too expensive?

This engine won't be in it much longer, but I plan on using it for my Berry T buggy for a short while.

I used to go up that hill all the time in my 62' 40hp bug....never had that problem. Sounds like you've got something else going on? maybe too far advanced, running lean? valves too tight?
