Bet they spent more than that on the resto. For as rare as the car and engine are, and as well done as it appears to be, that price is cheap.

I would rather have 15 $10,000 cars than one $150,000 car

I don't disagree with any of you, but cars like this are a complete different level, that most of us normal people will ever own. At the same time it is a value for what it is, this car is more rare than a Hebuller and the sell for over $200,000 for one done as well as this car. With labor and parts they have at least as much in it as they are asking for it. The early cars have become investments, and most have the others are becoming hobby cars, due to crappy cheap parts and expensive quality parts. It is becoming unrealistic to have one as a daily driver anymore, they are no longer a cheap economy car.

$159,500 with the Denzel Engine

$129,500 without the Denzel Engine

Please note that the Petri Full Circle Horn Ring that is visible in some of the pics is not included in the sale and this Kabriolet is located in Northern California.

--No Petri horn for $159,500? Damn! I would take that NOS Denzel engine for $30k....that's a steal! It's starting to cost that much just to build an NOS Okrasa!!!

I'm showing my ignorance here, but I didn't realize how unique/rare this bug is.
At this moment I'm Google'ing a bunch of this stuff now.

Just go to the Samba.com, and read through the Split bug forum...or just look through the classifieds for Split bug parts. The steering wheel prices will take your breath away...or the $2k plus decklid thats on that vert'. Laughing
