I'll bring a bike if you bring a box of tiny bags of chips and muffins.

Our man with the black bus from Clarkston says he wants to meet us at the Petro, but his wife gets off work @3 so he will be there @ 3:10. I told him we would wait for him, but he would have to buy beer for everyone.

Had a great time this last weekend at the show. Drive down was great, spent quality time on the side of the highway BSing with Ryan watching certain guys fix their bus's. Glad they knew what they were doing because I was no help lol.
Cruise night at the Dairy Queen was really good, better than last two years I would say.
Won 1st in class but hey when you are the only one in your class your chances are really good! Pat you should have entered.
Eric thanks for the help on the coil, works like a charm.

It was a fun weekend. Other than two flat tires, one bad coil, and one engine that burns oil faster than a furnace on a cold day in January, things went well. We had some car hockey in traffic, Dairy Queen, Rebel yell, backwards bicycle demonstrations, flat tire folding bike, Canadian girls, and Bowling for Toilets with a hubcapT ball. Bought and sold a few parts, too. Delivered an engine to Spokane for a gentleman that bought it at the swap, but didn't have room in his buggy haul it home. I have an interesting addendum to that story.

So I call Larry (engine purchasing dune buggy driver) on Sunday morning to plan our meeting near the Barker exit so I can deliver his engine. I get there before him because the local ATM is broken. (or blown up, not sure which since vending machine explosions seem commonplace in Spokane recently) I unload a few things, including a beetle fender, that were on top of the engine for the trip North. Larry shows up, we load the engine in his truck, and hang out for a few minutes to shoot the breeze.

As we speak, a sleek unmarked WSP cruiser pulls up next to us. Not sure what to think, I just stand there looking innocent. Turns out, officer Friendly noticed the fender sitting next to the bus and stopped to see if it was for sale. He bought a 69 beetle for his daughter and is looking for a few body parts to put the car back together. He has no cash on him, so we agree to meet at the Liberty Lake Albertsons to do the deal. As he leaves, I tell him "I'll be a few minutes later than you, don't get anxious". To which he replies "I drive the speed limit, no hurry". I then say "I drive slower than the speed limit, 'cuz I have to."

I pull into the Albertsons lot a few minutes later, and as I roll up, he pulls toward me in the prowler and flashes his lights. I told him that makes a bus driver nervous. He said his biggest drug bust ever was a VW bus coming from Canada. Who would try to smuggle big quantities of dope in a VW bus? A stupid bus driver/drug smuggler, I suppose. We end up talking for 15-20 minutes about many things, mostly VW's. Nice guy, and a refreshing, off-chance meeting with one of Washington's finest, Officer Lasher of the WSP.

The rest of the trip home, thankfully, was completely uneventful.
