| Franklins Auto Werks of Kent WA is organizing the 2nd annual East meets West in October . Clubs from all over WA and OR will be cruising to Wenatchee WA on Sat Oct 1st , meeting at Confluence park . This is a low key bring your own picnic lunch . For anyone staying overnight , we will be cruising to Levonworth Sun morning for breakfast . Several hotels are giving discounts for our group , but reservations will need to be made by/beforeSept 10th . Rivercity members and any Spokane area VWers that want to come along need to be at the 3rd and Maple Safeway gased and ready to leave at 8:30am , we are trying to have everyone at Confluence park by noon . e-mail me any ???'s . | Turn out was a bit small this year (rain ?) other than the local guys Spokane and Yakima had the bigest groups , Marsha (organizer) was the only person from any of the West side clubs , and Glenn and Mike were the only Tri City members there . We headed in group to a local all make car show after our get together , funny the looks you get when 10-12 VW's come in all at once to that type of show . Sunday those who stayed over went to Leavonworth for breakfast and shopping . We talked with the Wenatchee group about starting a club of their own . Our group all made it home without any mishap or breakdown . They are allready planning to do this again next year . TROY |
