Picked up a smashed arse 73 bug that Im currently transplanting the engine into my bus. When I finally got the engine out (had to cut the rear apron it was pushed in so hard. I noticed that the alt pulley and crank pully didnt line up, I thought it was shimmed wrong or something. After enought time of being frustrated about trying to fix it I was just going to bring extra belts with me where ever I went. Mr. Urk came over tonight to take a looksee and thought it could be the crank pulley actually being bent, well, it was. Here's the before, durning and currently.

Thanks Urk!

Straight down shot, you can see the roughly 1/2" difference.

This is the damaged pulley off the engine.

Spare pulley from the garage, 6mm of offset from the bent one above.

Back on with the straight pulley.

This little mohty took me on an adventure to Montana this weekend. Roughly 350 miles round trip, with an unknown engine, rain, no wipers, deer, no heat, mountain passes, and fighting to keep the oil pressure up at idle..... Danish Dingleberries!!! It was an adventure!!!
