Yea! Last night was a great expample. Got off at 4:30 with intension of getting right in the garage, got home and did some stupid things around the house, decided to eat dinner so I wouldnt have to take a break later, sat and watched a little star wars with a roomate, fell asleep, woke up, got in the garage at 6:45, start the fire, push the busses around, blah blah blah. Was able to pull out another 1/2 full 5 gallon bucket of rust flakes from the treasure chest area of the single cab. The metal down there (whats left minus the holes) has got to be thinner than Garland Avenue durring 5pm Evil or Very Mad . I guess who cares anyways, thats where the dead bodies go!

Working on putting a battery clock mechanism behind a VW clock so I will have a clock that keeps time. Also starting to assemble parts together for a top motor rebuild. Just scored some German door seals for 50 bucks. Going to Tri-Cities soon to help a friend pull a body off a squareback. He is doing a custom beach cruiser theme square with safari windshield.

Very Happy and now a new one to chalk up on the "to do list." Was going to take the mango up camping at 49 for the weekend. Packed, loaded, oiled, greased, chains on standby, headed out of town, the first big hill on 395 got me Sad . As typical in a bus, I was speeding towards the hill, as typical I lost speed going up the hill, un-typical as I stepped down harder on the pedal the engines RPM would start racing up but not the speed... So now looking for a good slightly used 12v clutch if anyone has one, but the rear main seal I will get new.

I know there is tubbing day for the club possibly coming up, havent heard any concrete yet but sounds like fun. Going to go up to 49 Saturday if anyone is up, driving non-acvw Sad .

Oh, I piled more junk on the single cab bed/work station (since this is the project thread)

"fone knubur" is the correct southern Greek/Slovakian slang for your numerical number digit placement for a telephone call Cool

Stripped and cleaned front wheel wells and sprayed undercoating and since I was painting I figured I would bed liner the spare tire area with spray on bed liner, and since I was in the spare tire area I hooked up a electric wiper tank. Turned out really nice. Today will put back the fresh air regulator boxes that I repainted and put on new seals.
One job leads to another!

Put in the fresh air regulators and what a chore but now there is no cold air coming and since everything was out I was able to fix some electrical and wiper issues. Found at least 10 cracks in the vent hoses so fixed them also.
Added some new screening to the fresh air regulators to keep out the bugs that were coming through while driving. Here is a picture of the rehabed boxes with paint and new seals[img][/img]

While doing all this work in the front of the car I saw some oil stains on the front shocks so I figured while I was doing the under coating I would replace the shocks. Took the old shocks off and compressed them and they did not return to fully extended position. Ride now is 100% better! Guess the shocks should have been replaced awhile ago? lol Next job is the brakes, front and rear.

Just put new shocks on my bus today, what a difference. i think they were the og shocks.
got some beam adjusters too, looks like i'm in for some fun trying to get that beam outta there,

It's not that bad getting that beam out, just make sure you got some good jack stands under there and get it as high as possible.(having extra hands to lower the beam is always a plus) Are you going to narrow it since you are installing ajusters? Are you installing dropped spindles? If you are, you may need to get another set of shocks.( stock shocks will bottom out ) What are you doing in the back? I have a set of lowering plates for the rear, it relocates the axle above the spring plate giving you a 3"-4" drop. I got a set on my bus and it works great. If you go much lower you will need raise the floor up front and notch the frame in the rear, sounds like alot of work but its not that bad.(If you you got the tiime and space) If you got any questions let me know.
