I have a 72 bug that I purchased this summer. Finally got it running! Very Happy
BUT then blew a tire Sad and replaced all 4. The old tires had the standard size on the back, and smaller ones on the front. (I thought it was due to the front end being lowered.) New tires are all the standard size and now the front left rubs badly on the front fender. The front right has enough clearance and doesn't appear to rub.

I have some questions.
1. How can I tell if the front end has indeed been lowered?

2. Is it difficult to raise it back up if it has been lowered?

3. Is it possible that the front end has not been lowered but instead there is a problem with the torsion bar? (the tire guy suggested this might be the problem)

Any thoughts? Keep in mind that I am a a half step above being a mechanical idiot. Confused

Cheers!
Nicole

Point 1. If you have standard tires all around, is the car level now? Post a picture of the car from the side, we might be able to tell as well if it was lowered front and rear.

Point 2. That all depends on how it was lowered. Could be easy, could be hard as hell, could be free, could cost money. you get the picture.

Point 3. Anything is possible.

If you're half a step above, then you're only about a 1/4 step behind us.
